The new Michael Mina
I can not WAIT to experience this meal tonight. The level of detail given to every aspect of this place has me amazed and astounded. $9 napkins?? Custom bussing bins to protect the custom Rosenthal china?? Unbelievable.
More tomorrow... if I'm still functional.

Have fun fatemeh!
can't wait to hear your report.
I had reservations a couple of months ago but cancelled them when i looked at my bank balance :) I still want to try - but only once I am convinced by the reports. Maybe your write-up will tip the balance for me - one way or the other!
I had a friend who went there - just two of them ended up with a $700+ bill. (Don't worry though - she's a good-wine fanatic, but thankfully has a job that supports that kind of lifestyle so i am sure she went crazy with the wines)
are you going to sneak your camera in? I always want to but sometimes feel a little bit odd taking photos of food everywhere I go!
I have some Rossenthal myself (well actually its in storage in England), but I've never been brave enough to actually eat off it!

Hey Sam -
Take a look at this post http://sfmcclures.blogs.com/gastronomie/2004/08/michael_mina.html.
It was... awesome. There has been a LOT of contention, but I thought it was one of the most artfully prepared meals I've had in a long time.
I just wonder if it's still really hit or miss. I won't go back until things have settled a bit, but I do hope to go back eventually!

Ugh. I should be more careful.
The period from the end of the sentence got pulled into the link.
Really, though, you can use the search box on the home page to go to Michael Mina, or you can go to the August archive.
PS - Love the post about Olive. I think I went there after a long night of drinking not too long ago.
