I'm hit!! Music in my Kitchen...

This little meme has been making its way around for a week or so now, with most of my favorite bloggers having been hit... so when Amy tagged me, my biggest stress factor was, “who is left to send it to, and how do I know they haven't been tagged yet??”

What is the total number of music files on your computer?
None on my laptop, 190GB on the home computer (around 57M songs)

The last CD you last bought?
It's been so long... I think it was Mylene Farmer L'autre, a replacement for a copy that, ahem, disappeared.

What is the song you last listened to before reading this message?
Angel by Massive Attack

Write down 5 songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.
A Lovely Day -- Bill Withers
Cherry Coloured Funk -- Cocteau Twins
Dream On -- Aerosmith (Stop laughing...I mean it)
Oxygene 1 -- Jean-Michel Jarre
How Soon is Now -- The Smiths

Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?
Culinary Muse, because I would love to hear the soundtrack to the muse
SF Culinaire, because a site that beautiful must be inspired by beautiful music
Life Begins at Thirty, because Jen told me before I knew it myself, so I didn't freak about my 30th birthday, and I owe that to her.

Hey so glad to have you visit! ;) You are always welcome, altho these days I hardly ever post and even when I do post its mostly piddley shit stuff. Alas, I will see you around!

oh darn. I was going to hit you, you were on top of my list, but i didn't get round to doing mine yet. duh.

yea, i was going to hit you, but you already got tagged by TWO other people!!!

are you coming for Slow Food tomorrow?

Hey F - the meme does actually ask what you 'often listen to' OR that mean a lot to you, which is why I listed the CD I have been listening to all the time for the last six months. thanks for the rec btw - I am going to check the ones you and Viv suggested out, as it is clear we have similar tastes. When I said some blogs left me cold - i didn't mean you - some of them had a lot of songs I'd never ever even heard of and couldnt, therefore relate to.
I really like the fact you have the Smiths and the Cocteau Twins on your list. I heard the C Twins are reforming for Coachella or something - or going to be there ?? - I am not sure if they ever split up. I love them but havent listened to them for ages. Maybe I should revisit them!

ok - you got me. I'm not sure if I played right but I think I played fair... ;-)

FYI to Sam too - Coachella is a friggin 80s/90s fest this year including Bahaus, The Cocteau Twins, New Order, NIN ... for a second I thought I was in college again.

Oyyyyy... I think I have to go... oyyyyy... I promised myself I wouldn't get roped into yet another multi-day, uber-expensive, mega-concert and now... well, now I'm screwed.

I've NEVER seen Bauhaus... oooooh, how I fawned over Peter Murphy in my youth. His angst was my angst. His doom was my doom.

Sigh.

Boy you are taking me back! Echo & the Bunnymen, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Depeche Mode...Robert Smith was my boyfriend, I swear!

You can keep your Robert Smith, Ms Molly
somewhere i have a great b&w photo I took of him at Glastonbury in 1986 btw
My own boyfriend was David Bowie,. I was sure that I would marry him one day. I figured as soon as he met me, he'd realise there wasn't a better woman in the world. Then he met that model. pah. Well, he still hasn't met me yet...
don't start me on depech mode either
oh how i love them
i have ssen them twice
once in 86 and once in 2000 (?)
i prefer the older maturer darker depeche mode
i really like some of the depeche mode remixes like K&D and Paul Oakenfold
I kissed a pop star once. Like proper kiss. You're going to be so jealous when you realise you never heard of Brother Beyond. They got to #1 in England, you know. And they dedicated a song to me on stage.
It was all very innocent.
Maybe we should have a gourmet trip to coachella
but i am not one for being a hippy, portaloos and camping out much

Who stole your Mylene Farmer CD? I think I stole it from our friend, but he stole it back. I had completely forgotten about that...I gotta get that CD.

That's funny... I can't remember which of us was the first to "discover" Mylene.

I don't know when mine disappeared - but I find myself humming "Desenchantee", and you know I am utterly tone-deaf so it's REALLY bad news.

I keep wanting to go to Coachella but I am duscouraged by the same things. Yuck.

I also saw DM in 1986, Book of Love opened for them. What a great summer that was. I dressed all goth for The Cure (with Gene loves Jezebel!) and none of my friends recognized me.

I kissed a pop star before he was famous.
