An update on Phineas Frogg
A few you have asked me for an update on Finn, and I'm thrilled to oblige. Because if there's anything I like talking about more than food, it's French Bullies!
The little man is doing admirably, considering his shady beginnings. The infections in his ears have cleared up nicely, but he now has a skin infection. He's on antibiotics for that, which unfortunately encourages the yeast growth in his ears, so he's always itchy. We're hoping to find him a home that will home-cook his meals, or feed him a raw diet as ANY grains or other high-glycemic index foods encourage further yeast growth.
He's been neutered, and I'm glad to say that it hasn't really affected his personality too much. He's learning that screaming like a banshee at neighbor dogs is rather impolite, though from time to time, the temptation is too great, and he just has to "go for it" -- usually, when I'm walking him (suggesting that he's a bit protective of me). At the end of the day, we really want him to go to an only-dog home, or maybe one with a small, submissive female.
Finn has been a precious, welcome visitor in our home. Soon, the time will come for him to go to his "forever home".
In the meantime, he (and many of the other dogs in foster care) have racked up some pretty hefty veterinary bills. If you feel that you would like to sponsor this cutie (or, really, any other dog in foster care who may steal your heart), please go to the FBRN Foster Roster. You can Paypal a tax-deductible donation, and sponsorships of $10 or greater earn you a magnet ($10+), mug ($50+) or t-shirt ($100+).
Phineas Frogg says, "THANK YOU!!"

Seen yer advert. Eric Clapton? While I consider myself a closet case, I'm unable to find anything of worth that he did past 1970. At least music wise. I'm finding myself in far better shape listening to some drums of the Yoruba of Nigeria from 1953. Far superior.

Sam, I suppose sensibility has its place. But to be honest, I wouldn't be sitting in a 1200sf loft with THREE dogs if I had much sense, now would I. ;-)
Joy, yes he is. He has quite stolen C's heart. I only hope that we can find him a GREAT home!
Biggles, cut a girl a break, wouldja? Just about every penny of profit I make on this site goes back to FBRN. Besides, when I was a girl, I thought "Layla" was written about a Persian girl, so I might have something of a sweet spot for Mssr. Clapton.

PS, I used to think he was singing "Babe-a" not "Lay-la"...

When I was last at Biggles House he was playing John Denver so I don't think you need to worry about what he thinks of your adverts. I did a Santa Fe Fire-Grilled Chicken Baguette Sandwich from Burger King once so I know how it feels to sell out.
It's funny. cos Biggles didn't invite me to the picnic. I read so much about - it sounded fun. Shame - I would have liked to meet you all. Upside of the was that he gave me a personal private invitation after I complained and I got to enjoy his extra big sausage all to myself instead. Phew, it was a smokin afternoon...!

Hey Rachel Baby,
We (there were other hosts) didn't invite you cause we didn't have yer email address, all were welcome. We should get an October picnic together, there's still time !!! Maybe at someone else's home or park? We had one success, why not another? I won't smoke anything, but we can grill up some tasty treats.
FYI, John Denver isn't the scariest thing in my record collection. I recently inherited another 6 feet of records. Howabout some Mac Davis or Billy Crash Craddock?
Hugs

Oh Fatemeh, I'm so happy to hear that he is doing well. I'm sure he'll find a loving home soon...
