One Last Doggie Post... I Promise!

This weekend, Stella scratched her cornea (on what, we have no idea!).

So now she's wearing an Elizabethan Collar, which is one size too big for her body because her neck is so damn big (16.5", if you care) compared to her compact little body.

She hates it. I mean HATES it. Won't go potty with it on, so we now have puppy pads all over the house (which she's more or less using, according to C). And we have to hand-feed her because if we take the collar off, she makes it impossible to put back on.

The things we do for our dogs.

Anyway, last night, C sent me this video (I'm in Denver again), and it brought a smile to my face, so I thought I'd share. Make sure you hold out until the very end for some choice Frenchie snuffling.

Awww...poor Stella. Hope she heals well...

Apparently she's doing quite well...if she has the energy to shuffle up to C's laptop and comment on the blog. ;)

Hi,

I have a suggestion for an alternative to the elizabethean collar. I've used it on my dogs with great success.

Newspaper. Lay it out flat, something like the travel section thickness. Fold in about 3-4 inches, and keep folding. Then wrap around the neck, making sure it isn't too tight, secure with packing tape. It's look like a big donut around the neck. You may have to make adjustments for your cutie.

Keeps the head straight- keeps the paws outta the eyes (frenchies have shortie little legs!), but doesn't require the clearance of the EC. Oh, and it's free. :p

aww poor puppy, hope she gets better soon.
My vet tells me dogs heal very quickly so she should be better in no time.
