Where in the world is...?
So, I've had this damn passport for what, two years now?
And I haven't put it to very good use yet. But lucky for me that I have an excellent friend who is also a total Europhile. And This friend of mine wouldn't let me off the hook when she called to tell me about an available room in a villa she was going to be staying in in October.
Now, find myself in Italy falling in love with everything that Italy is supposed to be.
I have so mich to share with you, my friends. From Roman Pizza to a meal in Florence that we thought might never end... this place is truly magnificent. It took me so long to get here, but now that I have, you can bet your "bravura" that I will come back often.

i had a meal like that in Florence, at Il Latini. Man, that was fun.

Can't wait to hear more about your trip when you return. Over wine, of course.

I am glad you are discovering Italy, but next time please don't go when you are meant to be at my house for brunch ;)

PS - in case that wasn't a rhetorical question, the pantheon in Rome, so increible...

The Pantheon is one of my favorite places on the planet. It's impossible not to stand inside and feel touched by the spirits of all the ages.
Are you going to Siena?

Sounds incredible! Can't wait to read all about it...

Italy is great. A friend of mine was stationed there for six months by our company. He said the food was superb, but the drivers were frightening.

Omigoodness, you have to try the blood orange juice at a truck stop if you possibly can. That is my favorite memory of traveling through Italy for a few months in 1999. (oh where has the time gone?) Truck stop food in Italy is fabulous believe it or not. I would not have believed it and in fact, had a bit of an Americanesque argument when I ordered OJ to go. It looked like raspberry juice and I wanted orange. Ooooh, but after a few tries, the guy at the counter convinced me that it was indeed orange. Best darn OJ I've EVER had!

The Pantheon. So great you are there. I forgot you were going. Can't wait to hear all about it.
